Bungie has revealed it will block access to Destiny 2's Wavesplitter for PC and Xbox One players, after they were yesterday able to gain access to the PlayStation 4-exclusive exotic Tracer Rifle for a brief period.

The gun was made available last night via Xur, Agent of the Nine, specifically through the Fated Engram items he flogs. Players flocked to the hooded merchant for one last purchase before he departed, and some people were rewarded with the Wavesplitter. For those unaware, the Fated Engram gives you exotic-flavoured loot, and more importantly, doesn't cough up duplicates.

Despite the obvious mistake, a new 'fix' is on the way from Bungie, which will result in Wavesplitter sitting locked in your inventory until it is officially rolled out for PC and Xbox One players in September.

The weapon is the latest in a long line of PS4-exclusive goodies, which have been featured in the series since the original Destiny back in 2014. Typically, this content comes in the shape of a weapon or two, a multiplayer map, or an exclusive mission.
