Bungie has announced on its blog that the first raid for Destiny 2 will be available from 6PM BST on September 13. The game’s Trials PvP mode will also go live at 6PM BST on September 15, and Nightfall is ready to go from day one. It’s also announced that the game’s servers will unlock with a rolling midnight release across the world, so us Brits get to play it a few hours before North America. Oohrah
True to form Bungie has promised not to reveal anything about the raid, saying that, ‘If you have witnessed the race to become the first to topple the final boss, you know we keep Raid info well under wraps. These are your moments to discover – your mysteries to solve.’
The developer has also confirmed that Guided Games won’t be ready on launch, instead rolling out in a limited access state as a ‘soft beta’. Bungie said that, ‘30-50% of players will be given seeker access, depending on clan participation in Destiny 2 during the first week’. Guided Games is a new feature that links solo players with a clan to tackle difficult missions, and is Destiny 2’s answer to traditional matchmaking.
Destiny 2 may not be playable until September 6, but players who’ve pre-ordered on the PS4 and Xbox One are able to preload the game, right now. Don’t forget the PC release is October 24, so there’s no preloading on that platform for a while.
So just to recap, Nightfall mode is ready on day one, the first Raid launches on September 13 and Trials opens up from September 15. Stick that in your diary.
