Bungie has confirmed that it will be buffing Destiny 2's loot drop rates for weapons in Gambit Prime and The Reckoning.
The changes will come into effect with Destiny 2 update 2.2.1, and will ensure that both game modes, which form part of the shared world shooter's Season of the Drifter event, will cough up gear on a more regular basis.
Bungie was also quick yesterday to quell fears that the announcement was an April Fool's joke, so that's good to know.
'Most weapons will have a chance to drop at the end of Gambit Prime matches. Your drop chance will also increase in both Gambit Prime and the Reckoning every match you don’t get a weapon to prevent long droughts without a drop,' said CHris Shannon, Bungie's community manager.
'Eventually, you will be guaranteed a drop. Gnawing Hunger, Just In Case, and Doomsday will remain as exclusive drops in the Reckoning.'
Elsewhere, Shannon confirmed that cosmetic items for ghosts, ships, and sparrows have been "doubled, tripled, or more for their respective activities.' In addition, The Last Wish's cosmetics have also been 'doubled, tripled, or more for their respective checkpoints.'
Destiny 2 is now firmly in the hands of Bungie, after the company parted ways with publisher Activision earlier this year.
This is not an April Fools prank. https://t.co/Ypny5Kqnob
