Fighting game tournament Evo 2018 will play host to the first public playable build of Dead or Alive 6, publisher Koei Tecmo has announced.

Evo 2018 takes place August 3-4 in Las Vegas, and Team Ninja's sweaty fighter will be showing off its best moves on the show floor, where it'll feature as part of a mini Dead or Alive 6 tournament.

If that wasn't enticing enough for fighting fanatics, Yohei Shimbori, the game's director and producer, will be attending the punch-up over the weekend to help promote the sequel.

In addition, the Dead or Alive 5 Last Round championship is also taking place, which sees 'the 'best-of-the-best trade fists and kicks to see who will walk away with a piece of the $6,000 prize pool money in front of a packed crowd.

Dead or Alive 6 is in development for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One, and is pencilled in for release in early 2019. Unlike previous entries in the series, this latest outing is looking to ease off on sex appeal in favour of being more 'cool.'

Part of this involves giving Dead or Alive's combatants a gritty overhaul, with blood, dirt, and sweat all visible on their skin as they duke it out.
