UPDATE: Koei Tecmo has released the first trailer for Last Round (above) revealing the type of graphics fans should expect from the next-gen release.

The trailer also states that the game is heading to Xbox 360 and PS3, although it isn’t clear what it’ll offer over the 2012 original. Expect a further update from Tecmo soon.

ORIGINAL STORY: A next-gen port of Dead or Alive 5 is coming to PS4 and Xbox One early next year, Koei Tecmo has announced.

A brief teaser for the remaster, titled Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, was revealed over the weekend, with the game due out in Japan in spring 2015.

Details on its new features have yet to be confirmed, but don’t be surprised to see the resolution bumped to 1080p and a range of DLC included. We’ve checked in with Tecmo’s European arm to see if we can squeeze any info out of them.

Dead or Alive 5 first launched on Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2012, with a free-to-play version following on PS3 last year.
