Tecmo is now planning to release the game on December 29 in Japan, but when the game will arrive in North America and Europe is anyone’s guess. Apparently, stability problems with online matches have forced Tecmo to hold the game back. This delay comes after it was recently announced that the game would fail to make the Japanese launch and had been said to arrive on December 17.

In a recent interview Team Ninja leader Tomonobu Itagaki said how he hates the culture to patch a game after release, fixing problems that should have been addressed before the game shipped. No such patching will take place with Dead or Alive 4, and the further delay of the game supports Itagaki’s claims that the game won’t be released until it’s ready. What this means for the Japanese launch remains to be seen. With the launch only days away and one of the key titles MIA until December 29 at the very earliest. things may not go to plan for Microsoft.
