There are a lot of characters Dead By Daylight fans want to join The Fog. One of the most highly-requested properties for DBD was The Walking Dead, and it has become a reality with the additions of Rick and Michonne, as well as Norman Reedus’ Daryl as a legendary skin. While these characters are great, there are more faces from TWD fans would appreciate, but a Dead By Daylight stream has explained why an iconic The Walking Dead character will never step foot into The Fog.
Dead By Daylight stream explains why The Walking Dead character will never join DBD
BeHaviour attempted to conduct a Dead By Daylight livestream on August 11th with streamers G_Birb, Mish, Ghostarcade, and Otzdarva, along with famous The Walking Dead actor Chandler Riggs. Unfortunately, the livestream was a disaster as they couldn’t play a DBD match for 40-minutes thanks to “technical difficulties,” and the stream was cut abrupt.
However, away from the cataclysmic failure of the stream, it was revealed why Chandler Riggs’ character from The Walking Dead, Carl Grimes, will never join DBD.
As relayed by Dvveet on X, “Carl Grimes will not be a Legendary Survivor in Dead by Daylight due to age limitations”. The sticking point is that Carl died between 14-15 years old. Dveet said, “It was inferred that it’s not possible to age him up given how his character’s storyline ended”.
Dvveet further elaborated, “It’s really important to realize that every ‘under age during their story’ Character we have in DBD now didn’t have their… storyline… ended prior to being taken. As in they still had possible story post-media for age up. For obvious reasons, this does not apply to Carl”.
This explanation is a shame, but it does align with what BeHaviour Interactive have said in the past. In October 2024, Mathiue Cote clarified that “children who kill that’s absolutely fine,” but “we don’t kill children”. This is why Killers can be children, but Survivors cannot. This also explains why Andy from the Child’s Play movies was not included as a Survivor to accompany Chucky as a Killer.
