A lot of changes have happened to Dead By Daylight following the disastrous livestream with The Walking Dead actor Chandler Riggs. This livestream explained why Carl Grimes will never join The Fog, even as a Legendary skin, meanwhile, it also resulted in the immediate implementation of a new feature. Now BeHaviour has announced major changes to the DBD roadmap for 2025, and part of these changes includes a new release date for the next Dead By Daylight Chapter PTB as well as possibly a cancelled Survivor.
Next Dead By Daylight Chapter PTB release date delayed and Year 10 roadmap changes
The next Dead By Daylight PTB for the September Chapter should’ve come out on August 19th judging by BeHaviour’s typical release schedule. However, it has now been officially delayed to “early September” with the full release coming in late-September.
This means the new release date for the PTB should be September 2nd/3rd. We don’t know anything about the Chapter yet other than it being an original episode based on Asian folklore with a Killer and Survivor.
What’s even bigger than this small delay is the postponement of the November Chapter to January. This is the licensed episode set to star two Survivors and one Killer. There are rumors it will be a third iteration of Resident Evil, but other speculation includes licenses such as Stranger Things and Danganonpa.
Lastly, March is set to have a Chapter fully dedicated to an original Survivor. However, in a video addressing the changes and future of DBD, BeHaviour stated that the March Survivor might be scrapped. In the video, executive producer, Jose Ramos, says, “Right now the plan for the [March] release is to have a Survivor and a Map,” but, while the “map is progressing really well,” there is the potential the chapter will “not have a Survivor” because “Survivors bring perks, and perks can be time consuming in terms of finding the right balance”.
Below is BeHaviour’s outlined QoL roadmap changes for Year 10:
Phase 1 – Aug to Sep:
- Add a third bugfix patch
- Postpone PTB to early September
- Address issues introduced in July mid chapter
- Extra polish time on upcoming original chapter
