Dead By Daylight is the multiplayer hotspot where iconic monsters and protagonists from different horror IPs meet up. Some classic horror mashups include Silent Hill’s Pyramid Head chasing after Resident Evil’s Jill Valentine, as well as Nightmare on Elm Street’s Freddy Kreuger pursuing Nicolas Cage. There has been many fantastic crossovers, and a lot more are planned by BeHaviour Interactive. While we know of FNAF, we’re hopeful that a movie director has teased a huge DBD licensed chapter for the future.
There is a lot of exciting content planned for Dead By Daylight this month. Make sure to redeem the active November 2024 codes for Bloodpoints and charms, and ensure you’re ready to play on November 12th as it’s a massive day for DBD. You can check out the rest of the November 2024 roadmap to see everything BeHaviour Interactive has announced so far for the coming weeks.
Year 9 is set to have one more licensed killer in March next year, and then we are moving onto Year 10. BeHaviour Interactive has only announced Five Nights At Freddy’s as of writing, but we’re hopeful that maybe a collaboration between DBD and Terrifier could actually be planned.
Terrifier movie director hopefully teases Dead By Daylight chapter
There are a lot of crossovers players dream of for Dead By Daylight. The most recurring request is Friday the 13th with Jason as a killer, and there are other common ones such as Stephen King’s IT and John Carpenter’s The Thing.
Another more recent horror franchise asked about is the Terrifier series. It’s not requested nearly as much as Friday the 13th and IT, but the IP is massively growing and has become a lot more mainstream following the success of Terrifier 3 at the box office as well as massive collaborations such as Art the Clown appearing in Call of Duty.
BeHaviour Interactive are aware of the Terrifier series as it’s included in the most recent survey asking players what licenses they would like to see in Dead By Daylight to collaborate with. In addition, back in 2023, BeHaviour Interactive’s head of partnerships, Mathieu Cote, told comicbook that he’s aware of Art The Clown and thinks “it’s a really interesting character”.
Although open to the idea of Art appearing in DBD, Mathieu Cote said “I don’t want to commit to anything” when pressed on if a collaboration will or could happen.
Now, more recently, the Terrifier crew conducted a panel at CreepyCon in September 2024. In a clip recently shared by Schmuckles, the Terrifier creator and movie director, Damien Leone, discussed Art the Clown becoming more mainstream and appearing in other properties.
Leone said “Call of Duty, Funkos, I mean there’s so many cool, and there’s like two really exciting things that are still yet to be announced that I can’t say. One of them you’re going to go crazy for, so I’m excited for that”.
Dead By Daylight is never specifically namedropped by Damien Leone, but hopefully the above is alluding to a DBD collaboration. It’s hard to think what other crossover fans would “go crazy for” as DBD is obviously the number one request, especially in the landscape of video games.
Year 10 is highly unlikely, but Terrifier 4 is officially announced so perhaps a crossover could happen in Year 11 or 12 to coincide with the movie’s release. A full chapter would make a lot of sense with Art as the killer and his foe, Sienna, as an obvious survivor. In the past BeHaviour has given us two new survivors in the Resident Evil chapters, and perhaps Terrifier could be the first chapter with two licensed killers as Art the Clown does have an accomplice in the equally brutal Victoria.
