The Dead By Daylight Chapter 37 PTB has arrived, allowing select DBD players to try out new Killer, The Krasue, and new Survivor, Vee Boonyasak. This is for the original Asian folklore Chapter coming out in just a few weeks. While the PTB is a lot of fun thanks in large to the new Killer and Survivor, it has resulted in Dead By Daylight leaks unearthing details about this year’s Halloween event plus upcoming new skins and more.
Dead By Daylight Halloween event, new skins and more details leak
Following the release of the 9.2.0 Chapter 37 PTB, Dead By Daylight leakers were able to datamine details about upcoming new content. All this information comes courtesy of leaker, Wazzup, as shared on the LeaksDBD subreddit.
Starting with this year’s Halloween event, Wazzup says, “Void Crystals will be returning, though they will be updated to function as Fog Vials [and] You will be able to somehow craft them”. In addition, “Haunts will likely be reworked to give you some kind of a passive buff effect”.
Moving onto new skins, Wazzup found references to new cosmetics for Springtrap, The Unknown, The Trickster, and Feng Min. For Springtrap, BeHaviour confirmed a new skin is coming this year, with the developer teasing it is their “favorite”.
While Wazzup hasn’t leaked exactly what the skin is, they have found VFX references. One of the VFX references is “drip,” presumably dripping fluid, for his body, weapon, and mouth, along with “spark” for his arm, ear, and weapon, and it also has an effect named “eye glow”. This seemingly hints at Springtrap being this year’s Blighted, but this is just a guess.
The Unknown skin also has “effects for his body, head and weapon,” meanwhile, The Trickster skin only “has an effect for his body”. Lastly, Feng Min’s skin is a Legendary Outfit that has 20 voice lines. There are references to 9.5.0 hinting at a release in this update, but that could just be a placeholder.
Before this year’s Halloween event, there will be the celebration of DBD Day on October 18th. Wazzup has found a UI icon for the event and believes it will have “its own quests”. Lastly, the dataminer also discovered that “Addon randomization will be added to Chaos Shuffle [as] a UI icon was added for it”.
