The actress for The Krasue in Dead By Daylight has refuted allegations that she’s AI, meanwhile, BeHaviour Interactive have clarified that they will not use AI “for anything that ships in our games”. Chapter 37 launched just last week, and it is the final DBD Chapter this year thanks to huge changes to the Year 10 roadmap. It is an original Chapter based in Thailand, and it stars female drummer Vee Boonyasak as the Survivor, meanwhile, The Krasue is the Killer based on Thailand mythology. BeHaviour Interactive recently revealed the actress behind The Krasue’s vocals and appearance, resulting in a barrage of AI allegations.

Dead By Daylight The Krasue actress refutes allegations she’s AI

On the official DeadbyDaylight TikTok account, BeHaviour Interactive revealed that Dr. Organ Prawang Carlson is the voice actress for The Krasue. The announcement was accompanied by a video of the actress cosplaying as The Krasue and confirming her role in Thai.

In the comments, a lot of replies accused the video of being AI. One comment with 4949 likes asked, “Why does it look like AI?,” with many comments echoing this sentiment. Even on the Deadbydaylight Instagram account, the same video prompted a flurry of AI accusations in the comments.

It’s not clear from the video what prompted the AI allegations, but they’re completely unfounded. Regardless, the leading actress responded by posting a story on Instagram, screenshotted by Dvveet, joking, “Wake up this morning and some people thought that I’m AI” followed by the laughing emote. The actress has also liked several comments saying she’s not AI.

In addition to The Krasue’s actress, BeHaviour Interactive have refuted allegations of using AI in their game. While accusations towards Dr. Organ Prawang Carlson were unfounded and bizarre, the finger-pointing at BeHaviour Interactive makes more sense as it stemmed from a job listing seeking a programmer to join the Generative AI Research Team, with the job listing seeking someone who has “Hands-on experience with Generative AI tools for video, image, or content creation”.

Despite the above requirement, BeHaviour clarified on X that they “have a very firm policy that prevents the inclusion of anything generated by AI in Dead by Daylight or any other game we’re working on, including marketing assets”. The developer admitted they are “exploring the use of generative AI tools to improve internal workflows,” but their use of Generative AI will “not [be] for anything that ships in our games”.

BeHaviour’s clarification is good to hear, and it should put to bed the concerns of DBD fans. AI is continually becoming a bigger worry within the video games industry, with all sorts of developers sharing their thoughts on the future. An artist for GTA 6 has admitted AI “has its uses” but “can’t replace people,” meanwhile, the creator of Nier and Drakengard more cynically believes AI will “make all game creators unemployed” in the future.
