Five Nights At Freddy’s has always been massively popular, and it has quickly become Dead By Daylight’s biggest chapter. BeHaviour Interactive has revealed more FNAF content is on the way, including a new skin for Springtrap come the month of Halloween. While additional skins and cosmetics is something to look forward to, fans are hoping for a second chapter similar to what has happened with Resident Evil. Nothing is official or guaranteed, but BeHaviour Interactive has said they want a second chapter, and they have also revealed the horrifying FNAF killer they’d “love” to step into the fog for Dead By Daylight.
Dead By Daylight devs reveal FNAF killer they’d “love” for second chapter
Following the launch of the Five Nights At Freddy’s Dead By Daylight chapter, BeHaviour Interactive participated in a live Q&A on the FNAF Discord. Unfortunately, the Q&A is no longer accessible, but answers from BeHaviour have been relayed on socials.
Previously, Dvveet revealed that BeHaviour Interactive personnel said that they would welcome a second chapter because there is enough community interest as well as enough material from the license.
Now it’s also been shared by JonnyBlox that BeHaviour Interactive personnel agreed they’d “absolutely love” to add The Mimic as a killer. This is the perfect and most obvious choice for a second chapter.
Springtrap needed to be the killer for Dead By Daylight’s first collaboration with Five Nights At Freddy’s as William Afton is the primary rogue for the FNAF series. However, for the new modern games, Springtrap has been replaced by The Mimic.
The Mimic is an entirely separate monstrosity that was created in the 1970s by Edwin Murray. Its true form is horrifying as an endoskeleton with large yellow eyes and sharp teeth, but what makes The Mimic so terrifying is its abilities spelled out by its name. It can mimic the movements, actions, voices, and personalities of others, tricking unfortunates to a violent death. It is also capable of shapeshifting to take on the guise of other monstrosities.
What makes The Mimic such an obvious choice for Dead By Daylight is its new leading role in the FNAF series as well as the limitless potential it has for skins thanks to its shapeshifting capabilities such as Jackie in the newly released Secret of the Mimic. Its tricky nature would also be perfect for Killer perks designed to lay traps for Survivors.
There’s no guarantee a second Five Nights At Freddy’s chapter will happen for DBD, but it’s definitely possible. Big licenses have frequently returned with Resident Evil the biggest example, and, so long as an agreement can be reached with Steel Wool, BeHaviour has already laid the foundations by pointing to The Mimic. It would also be fantastic for 2v8 mode as The Mimic and Springtrap teaming would even be more terrifying than Nemesis and Wesker.
