Dead By Daylight x Five Nights At Freddy’s doesn’t release until June, but the PTB is now available to play with perks revealed for Springtrap. The PTB grants Steam players temporary early access to the iconic FNAF rogue, as well as allowing eligible fans to roam the new pizzaplex map. While nothing is official, it’s possible the FNAF map reveals the new “Asian folklore killer” that is set to arrive in Dead By Daylight during September.

Dead By Daylight FNAF map possibly shows new “Asian folklore killer”

During the Dead By Daylight anniversary livestream, BeHaviour Interactive revealed that there will be an “Asian folklore killer”. The killer will be original, meaning they will not be licensed ala Sadako from the J-horror Ringu collaboration.

Per the Year 10 roadmap, the chapter will arrive in September, and there will be an original killer and survivor. While nothing is official, it’s possible the killer has been shown off, or at least teased, as part of an Easter egg in the FNAF map.

Spotted by OP, White_Mantra, on the game’s dedicated subreddit, one of the arcade machines part of the Five Nights At Freddy’s map possibly reveals the name of the “Asian folklore killer” is Jorōgumo. Per the OP, the “title is blurred and hard to read on purpose”. In addition to the name, there appears to be the silhouette of a woman “with multiple arms,” leading to comparisons with the unforgettable spider lady from The Evil Within, Laura, in the replies.

This is not an official reveal of the September killer, but it could possibly be a teaser as BeHaviour have famously included in-game clues to future chapters before. The most recent example of an in-game clue includes a movie in Greenville Square being called The Ghoul’s Lament, which was a hint towards Tokyo Ghoul. There was also The Unknown hinting at DnD and The Houndmaster with voice lines “I’ve lived in dungeons long forgotten” and “have you seen my dog”.

If Jorōgumo is the killer, then it is a Yokai part of Japanese folklore. Per folklore, Jorōgumo is a brutal, deadly, and beautiful spider-woman that preys on handsome young men. This could mean BeHaviour’s survivor is a handsome young man as well, but this is just speculation based on the tale.
