BeHaviour Interactive recently attempted a Dead By Daylight stream with The Walking Dead actor, Chandler Riggs. While the stream provided an explanation for why Chandler Riggs’ character, Carl Grimes, will never join The Fog, it was a colossal failure due to what BeHaviour Interactive labelled “technical difficulties”. Following this abysmal stream, a Dead By Daylight feature has been “implemented immediately”.

Dead By Daylight feature implemented immediately

BeHaviour attempted a Dead By Daylight livestream on August 11th with streamers G_Birb, Mish, Ghostarcade, and Otzdarva, along with famous The Walking Dead actor Chandler Riggs. Unfortunately, the livestream was a disaster as they couldn’t play a DBD match for 40-minutes thanks to “technical difficulties,” and the stream was cut abrupt.

Following this, Dvveet has reported on X a new feature has been “implemented immediately”. As for what the new feature does, “Joining a friend’s lobby (or someone’s lobby) in Dead by Daylight [now] requires the manual approval of whoever you’re joining”. To enforce this, “A screen pops up letting you know someone wants to join to which you can approve or deny”.

Reacting to this new feature on the game’s official subreddit, a lot of comments echo the sentiment this “should have been done ages ago”. One comment says, “it pi**** me off that it was just that easy,” meanwhile, another comment says, “It’s kinda funny how this was something they said they were going to do years ago and yet a few days after the stream they’ve put out a fix”. One of the most upvoted comments says that it “Only took a massive public embarrassment to make them [BeHaviour] take it seriously”.

It remains to be seen whether this new feature is enough. As for the imminent future of DBD, the August 2025 roadmap points to the return of 2v8 mode next. There should also be the PTB for the Asian folklore original Chapter scheduled for September, but there is the possibility the PTB may be postponed because of the return of 2v8.
