Dead By Daylight September 2025 codes are available to redeem right now, and the roadmap is also laid out. While this month’s roadmap includes the extension of 2v8 mode for another week, it truly kicks off with the DBD public-test build. The release date for the Dead By Daylight Chapter 37 PTB is September 3rd. This is confirmed in BeHaviour’s teaser basically showing the new DBD killer.

This is an original Chapter based on Asian folklore. Before details were uncovered, it was suspected that the chapter would star a monstrous spider-lady similar to Laura in The Evil Within thanks to the Five Nights At Freddy’s map. However, BeHaviour quickly dismissed this idea, and a whole debacle about arachnophobia in horror video games spilled out online within the community.

As an original Chapter, this episode stars a Survivor and Killer, but there will not be a map. We were initially planned to get a licensed episode in November starring two Survivors and one Killer, but this has been pushed to January 2026.

When does the Dead By Daylight Chapter 37 PTB start?

The release time for when the Dead By Daylight Chapter 37 PTB will start is 8AM PT/11AM ET/4PM BST on September 3rd. This is the launch time for new chapters, public-test builds, and updates, except on the rare occasions livestreams with the developer occur on the same day.

As for the full release, the Chapter is still on course to come out in September for all systems meaning PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo, and PC. Only users on Steam will be able to play the public-test build when it starts.

New DBD survivor leaks

Unlike the Killer, BeHaviour hasn’t shown the new DBD Survivor as of writing. Fortunately, we have leaks to rely on.

According to leaks, the Survivor is a female from Thailand. She is said to be in her late 20’s, and she is described as “confident, charismatic, fun and aloof”. It’s also claimed that she is a drummer in a band, and her name is Dailsay Joy ‘DJ’ Anurak.

Lastly, she is “social and with strong human connection,” and she is “someone everyone wants to befriend”. Remember that these are only leaks rather than anything official.

New DBD Killer

BeHaviour has shown off the new DBD Killer in their teaser for the Chapter 37 PTB. The teaser shows a woman before the screen fades to black and her face reappears covered in gore.

In another teaser, a woman is heard saying in Thai, “are you there?”. The fact that the Killer is from Thailand lends credibility to leaks concerning the Survivor.

Unfortunately, we don’t know anything about the Killer’s perks and abilities. The current speculation is that they are based on a Krasue from Thailand mythology, which is a beautiful woman’s disembodied head with dangling organs.

We see the woman in the teaser with her body fully intact, but there is the possibility there could be a unique perk that allows her head to detach from her shoulders and roam the map.

How to play Dead By Daylight Chapter 37 PTB

You can only play the Dead By Daylight Chapter 37 PTB if you own DBD on Steam for PC. Provided you have the game on Steam, simply follow the below steps:

• Right-click Dead By Daylight in your Steam library 
• Select “Properties” 
• Head into “Betas”, then select Public Test Build from the list

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to play the PTB on either PlayStation or Xbox. For players on console, you will need to wait until towards the end of September.
