Recently, BeHaviour Interactive participated in an AMA with the Dead By Daylight community on Reddit. In this AMA, the developers shared a bunch of plans for the future while also heavily hyping the original chapter set for March 2026. One of the most exciting responses from BeHaviour was the confirmation that Dead By Daylight is adopting a huge feature seen in Fortnite, but they are currently considering “safety and security” while it is in-progress.
Dead By Daylight devs confirm huge feature from Fortnite
On LeaksDBD, a summary of the recent Dead By Daylight AMA was shared with screenshots of responses from Deadbydaylight_dev. One of the answers from BeHaviour Interactive confirmed that the developer is planning to finally add a gifting system.
BeHaviour Interactive’s official FAQ says that they are aware gifting is a “popular community wish,” but “due to time constraints, it’s not being planned”. However, things have changed as, during the AMA, DBD dev, Kirby, confirmed that BeHaviour have a “design” for a gifting system and that it is in progress.
Kirby added that BeHaviour is “currently discussing the security and safety measures,” and that right now it is “Planned for April 2026″. The planned release could change, so don’t treat it as gospel for the time being.
A gifting system would be fantastic. Although it’s not a part of every multiplayer game that exists such Helldivers 2, it is a popular community feature for juggernauts such as Fortnite. Epic Games allows Fortnite players to gift 5 items maximum over 24-hours, and items you can gift include skins so long as you have two-factor authentication enabled.
There’s no elaboration from Kirby as to what kind of content Dead By Daylight players will be able to gift, but the safe assumption is skins. It would be fantastic if next year we can gift characters, chapters, and Auric Cells, too, but we will have to wait and see.
