GameSpot reports that Sony Online Entertainment’s superhero MMO, DC Universe Online, will launch November 2, 2010.
The launch date hasn’t been officially announced by SOE, but comics artist Jim Lee confirmed the date at a Comic-Con panel over the weekend.
It’s good news for PS3 gamers too, with the game expected to launch simultaneously on PC and Sony’s console. The latter won’t require a PlayStation Plus subscription in order to play.
In DC Universe Online players will create their own superhero to inhabit a world filled with other player creations and DC Comics’ cast of characters including Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, Superman and The Joker.
Players will get the opportunity to gets hands-on with the likes of Batman and co through an in-game battle simulator, but for the most part the experience is about furthering your own character’s development.
