DC Universe Online has reached 1 million players after recently going free-to-play.
According to SOE Austin executive director Lorin Jameson, the increased player-base is split “50/50” between PC and PS3, Destructoid reports.
The MMO went free-to-play November 1, in order to enable more users to access the game. SOE has denied the move had anything to do with initially low subscription numbers.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the drop in WoW’s numbers have helped boost this game, considering its increase in users seems to coincide with recent news reports of WoW’s 10 per cent loss in players.
