Sony Online Entertainment has released a new seasonal holiday pack for DC Universe Online.
The new free content update titled Season’s Greedings features LarFleeze, the leader of the Orange Lanterns, who plans to take revenge on Santa for not filling his stocking over Christmas.
Included in the update will be stolen holiday items hidden throughout Gotham City and Metropolis.
“Heroes and villains alike will take part in quests to find the stolen presents. Heroes will receive direction from Green Lantern Hal Jordan in the Watchtower, while villains will hear a similar request from the wielder of yellow light, Sinestro in the Hall of Doom,” SOE explains.
“In order to locate the presents, players must search for, and defeat, Larfleeze’s carefully crafted orange construct enemies, created to resemble those he has defeated in the past as a warning sign to any who cross him in the future.”
Holiday items will be sold by vendors, including a new Holiday Elf outfit set, a Snowman form trinket, a Holiday snowglobe grenade, while a Festive Winter Hat and Reindeer Antlers will be available in the Holiday Marketplace.
Additionally, this game update will feature a new Watchtower PvP map that allows players to take part in a 5v5 death-match style area located in the Watchtower, and an ongoing minigame titled Larfleeze Sightings, in which players can receive a Feat if they can spot Larfleeze in Metropolis or Gotham City once a day for 12 days.
DC Universe Online recently went free-to-play and has since seen a 700 per cent rise in revenue.
