Update 2: The game will also be presented in 4K on PS4 Pro, THQ Nordic has announced. Check out the game’s trailer – not in 4K  – below.

Update: Darksiders: Warmastered Edition is will now release November 22 for PS4, Xbox One and Wii U (digital), with the PC version following a week later on November 29.

Original report: A remastered version of the original Darksiders, now under the ownership of Nordic Games, will be released this October titled Darksiders Warmastered Edition.

Developed by KAIKO, a studio that apparently helped out with last year’s Darksiders 2 remaster, Darksiders Warmastered Edition will be available on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Wii U, and come with a variety of visual enhancements.

The game will support native 1080p/60fps on PS4 and Xbox One, although that’ll drop to 30fps on Wii U. The PC version, meanwhile, includes support for 4K resolutions and “additional visual options”.

Here’s the full list of features:

  • Native 1080p rendering resolution for console platforms
  • 4k support and additional video options for PC
  • Doubled all the texture resolutions
  • Rendering improvements and rework
  • Better shadow rendering quality
  • Post processing effects
  • 60 FPS in moment to moment gameplay (PS4, Xbox One, PC, 30 for WiiU)

Well received on its release in 2010, Darksiders is a third-person post-apocalyptic action game in which players take control of War, the first Horseman of the Apocalypse.

The remaster is set to release on October 25 for £14.99. To check out what it looks like, head through to the first screens.
