Darksiders II will release in the US on August 14, publisher THQ has announced, pointing to a Friday, August 17 launch in the UK.
“We look forward to launching Darksiders [II] beginning on August 14 in North America,” revealed THQ CEO Brian Farrell during an investor conference call over night.
The game had been set for a June 29 debut, but THQ pushed the game back in order to provide developer Vigil with a little more time to complete the title.
In more positive news, Farrell was optimistic about the game’s success, noting that pre-orders are over five times the number achieved for the original game at the same point prior to release.
The sequel will be supported with double the marketing spend of the first game.
