UPDATE: Bandai Namco has released the first details and trailer for Ashes of Ariandel, confirming that the DLC will release on PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 25.
“Return to the world of Dark Souls 3 and uncover a terrible secret that lies within an unnamed frozen land,” says Namco. “Players will find themselves steeped in a brand new environment filled with terrifying new enemies, challenges, and exciting lore to fill out the overarching Dark Souls 3 storyline.
“Players are tasked to enter this new world and defeat the evil within and uncover the mystery of what has caused the land to become defiled. In addition to adding a new environment to Dark Souls 3, the Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel expansion will also include new weapons, armour sets, and magic for players to discover and experiment with, as well as new features for the game’s wildly popular competitive multiplayer mode.”

ORIGINAL REPORT: Dark Souls 3’s first DLC expansion – Ashes of Ariandel – will release on October 25, Sony has revealed.
The announcement appears to come ahead of an official reveal from publisher Bandai Namco, which has yet to detail what is included in the DLC.
The publisher has previously said that two DLC packs are planned for the game, however, both including new bosses, enemies, levels, weapons and armour. A season pass, which contains access to both packs, is currently available for £19.99.
