Dark Souls 2 will release for PC on April 25, Namco Bandai has confirmed.
The date was featured in the game’s latest trailer (above) highlighting its opening cinematic.
An April 25 date had previously been rumoured after an alleged piece of marketing leaked online. At the time, however, Namco said that it hadn’t “announced a release date yet”.
The PC version features higher resolution textures over its console counterparts and includes an “enhanced frame rate option”. It’s also been optimised for mouse and keyboard support.

“We’re conscious of the high expectations from PC gamers and are working with FROMSOFTWARE in ensuring that the PC version of Dark Souls II offers the best experience possible,” said Mathieu PIAU, EMEA Marketing Director at NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe. “After an amazing first opus, DARK SOULS II promises an even more engaging, richer and challenging adventure that should please all gamers, regardless of their platform of choice.”
The release follows six weeks after the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, which are due to go on sale next Friday, March 14.
