Microsoft has announced that a pair of new games have joined Xbox One's rapidly-swelling backwards compatibility offering, with Dante's Inferno and R.U.S.E. now fully playable on the console.

Both titles can be slotted into your Xbox One if you have the original Xbox 360 discs lying around somewhere, or re-downloaded to the system if you have digital versions. Failing that, just grab 'em from the Xbox Store; Dante's Inferno costs £14.99 and R.U.S.E. will set you back £8.99.

Developed by Visceral Games (RIP), Dante's Inferno is loosely based off the first part of the epic 14th century poem, Divine Comedy. The game takes the form of an action hack-'n-slash, and kind of gives a good impression of what would happen if Devil May Cry and God of War got in the sack together.

Meanwhile, R.U.S.E. is a real-time strategy affair set during the Second World War, at the time when the Allies were invading Nazi Germany. The game's unique pull is the titular Ruse mechanic, which allows you to mess up your opponent's battle plans by disrupting their ability to gather intelligence.

Both games originally hit stores for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2010, although there's also a PlayStation Portable version of Dante's Inferno knocking around (it's rubbish though, so don't worry about it).
