Dancing Stage Unleashed 3 features 20 new licensed tracks, each complete with an accompanying video. Konami has also developed a further 30 tracks which have been designed to push players to their limits. The 20 licensed tracks are a mix of modern and classic tunes including Bodyrockers’ ‘I Like the Way You Move’, Basement Jaxx’s ‘Oh My Gosh’, ‘Wake Me Up’ from Girls Aloud, ‘House of Fun’ by Madness and FatBoy Slim’s ‘Rockafella Skank.’
Three new modes make it into Unleashed 3: Freestyle, Quest and Jukebox. In Freestyle mode the player is not restricted to performing the steps indicated by the arrows on screen and can just dance to the beat of the music. The game then rates the performance based on originality of movement and how closely you matched specific beats.
In Quest mode you are invited to dance across 60 US cities and build up a reputation as the ultimate Dancing Stage dancer. Using an on-screen map you select where you want to dance. As you increase your rep more people come to watch you dance and will want to take away your crown by challenging you. Jukebox mode is simply a way to kick back and relax listening to the tracks from the game, even allowing you to create custom play-lists.
Online play is also present, allowing you to challenge people from all over the world to a dance off. Just be careful not to get served. The popular Calorie Counter also returns for those wanting to use the game as part of a keep-fit routine. Dancing Stage Unleashed 3 is scheduled for a March, 2006 release.
