Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the upcoming sci-fi opus will not feature any 'Game Over' screens beyond the one that shows when you kick the bucket.
Speaking with GameStar (via IGN), the game's quest designer, Philipp Webber, revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be pretty generous when it comes to tackling quests, and as such there's no punishment as such if you manage to cock things up.
Webber revealed that the team tackled mission design with the following question: 'What is the stupidest thing that the player could do?'
As a result, CD Projekt Red has gone about crafting missions that accommodate all kinds of behaviour among players. In other words, the game won't punish you for going off the beaten path.
Webber gave an example that sees you protecting an important client. Sure, you can stick with him/her, but if you fancy a bit of grub, you can pop over to the nearby restaurant for a burger. The client can die while you’re doing this, but the game will continue on as normal.
Cyberpunk 2077 has yet to attract a release date, but it will launch no later than 2021.
