Cut the Rope: Holiday Gift will be released as a free standalone iOS game later this month, publisher Chillingo has announced.
Holiday Gift will have its own set of 25 levels, alongside new achievements and new toy – the Christmas Sock. Players can teleport the delicious chunks of candy between the socks in a bid to feed green alien blob thing Om Nom.
The game will also feature a festive bevy of Christmassy music, menus and new expressions for Om Nom.
The announcement follows a similar ‘seasonal’ vibe of Rovio’s Angry Birds Seasons. The original Angry Birds was published by Chillingo in 2009, but Rovio has since started publishing the franchise itself.
Cut the Rope is Chillingo’s latest iOS success story – shifting over one million copies in its first ten days of sale. It is developed by Russian studio ZeptoLab, and Chillingo was recently acquired by EA.
