Yesterday Nintendo announced that in Japan the GameCube version of Twilight Princess was only going to be available via Nintendo’s online store. At the time there was no information regarding the game’s fate in other parts of the world.

The good news for European GameCube owners is that the game will not be getting a restricted release across Europe. Nintendo said that “Zelda: Twilight Princess on GameCube will be available via the usual retail channels in Europe.” This means you’ll be able to pop down to the shops to pick up a copy.

We’re still waiting for a release date though. The Wii version of Twilight Princess will be available on December 8 along with the rest of the Wii launch software, but currently the GameCube release hasn’t been given a date – all Nintendo will say is mid-December.
