The much anticipated demo of upcoming PC FPS Crysis has been delayed to October 26.

The news will disappoint eager PC gamers who had previously thought the demo would be available from September 25, the same day sure-fire monster hit Halo 3 is due to hit the shops.

In a statement, Cevat Yerli, CEO of developer Crytek, revealed that the delay is down to ensuring the game does not miss its official November 16 release date.

He said: “We are taking some extra time to make sure that you have an amazing experience but also we did not want to risk the release date of Crysis at this stage. To get the game into your hands by November 16, we had to make this call.”

Perhaps in an effort to appease disappointed fans of the game, Crytek revealed the demo will come with Sandbox 2, its game editing application.
