Crowdfunded Ghouls and Ghosts-like Battle Princess Madelyn is coming out in 2018

Casual Bit Games Inc. has announced that it’s bringing its side-scrolling, arcade-styled platformer, Battle Princess Madelyn, to almost all formats in early 2018. The game is due for release on the PS Vita, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Wii U and Xbox One, following on from a successful crowdfunding campaign earlier this year.The announcement was made alongside the unveiling of a new teaser trailer, and it’s all looking very much like Ghouls and Ghosts-like, which is a great look in my book.

Battle Princess Madelyn is a game that follows the journey of a young knight in training, Madelyn, and her ghostly pet dog, Fritzy. The side-scrolling platformer is a quest about self-discovery, and Madelyn will come across a number of good and bad characters on her journey through the kingdom.

Players will get the chance to dispatch loads of ghouls, demons and more across a 10 level arcade mode, with a wide range of weaponry to choose from and discover. It sounds pretty derivative, but it does look kind of fun. It’ll be interesting to see how the game actually plays once it comes out.

Battle Princess Madelyn is due out in early 2018 for PS Vita, PS4, Wii U, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.
