Red Steel 2 creative director Jason Vandenberghe is a really happy guy, and it seems this is mostly thanks to what he and the development team at Ubisoft Paris has achieved with Red Steel 2. However, there is one thing he would have loved to see included in the final game: dual-wielding of Wii Remotes.

“Right now, I can’t do sword and shield – I can only half-ass it,” he told VideoGamer.com. “My original pitch for Red Steel 2 was to use two Wii Remotes. But you can’t sell that, right?”

“It’s just not possible,” he explained. “The headline would be “Ubisoft publishes game that costs 150 bucks!” And we needed to prove ourselves first.”

He explained how cool it would be to offer dual-Wii Remote controls.

“If I had the option to have two, then we could do long sword and Florentine, sword and shield… there’s no end to the number of solutions!”

For now though, we’ll have to make do with a single Wii Remtoe solution – which by the way is great fun.

Red Steel 2 is scheduled for release on March 26, 2010.
