One game that didn’t quite make its 2006 release date is Crackdown, the free-roaming GTA-alike from Realtime Worlds and Microsoft Game Studios. Although the game was the subject of much ridicule when it was first revealed, it’s taken shape very well over the last six months and looks like one of the key titles for the Xbox 360 in 2007.

While the game isn’t due to hit stores until February 23, Xbox 360 owners with an Xbox Live account will be able to sample the game from January 18. No details about the demo have been released, but we’ll let you know more once it’s available to download.
