Coral Island is one of the best farming simulators available alongside the beloved Stardew Valley. While the game doesn’t have multiplayer as of yet, it is getting added as part of a new update from the developer. When does the Coral Island 1.2 multiplayer update come out?

The release date and time countdown for when the Coral Island 1.2 multiplayer update will come out is 10AM PT/1PM ET/6PM BST on August 14th. This is confirmed on Stairway Games’ official blog post, and the release date and time is the same for PC, PS5, and Xbox.

Unfortunately, despite previously being touted for Switch, there’s still no word on a release date for the Nintendo Switch other than the FAQ saying the devs will share “news as soon we can”.

While the lack of a Switch announcement is disappointing, it’s fantastic that multiplayer is finally coming to Coral Island. You will be able to play with friends in up to four-player co-op, and you will also be able to participate in events together and even romance a co-op buddy.

In addition to multiplayer, there’s also new romance events for each of the applicable options, along with added cosmetics and festivities such as Halloween.

There are over a dozen fantastic romance options in Coral Island, and below are all the new romance events prior and post-marriage added in update 1.2:

• Hangout Events: Spend quality time with your favorite islanders through optional mini-events. From cozy picnics and jam sessions to spontaneous beach bonfires, these moments let you connect in new ways.
• Hangout Cutscenes: Each hangout triggers a unique cutscene, separate from Heart Events, focusing on your personal bond with an NPC.
• Deeper Conversations: Discover new dialogue that reveals your spouse’s dreams, fears, and aspirations. (post-marriage)
• Special Cutscenes: Experience intimate moments in daily life, from quiet mornings together to romantic dates that bring you closer. (post-marriage)
• All dateable characters are getting their own Spooky Outfit just in time for the Spooky Festival! These outfits will appear every Fall season.
• You might also spot them during special ghost-story events but only if your friendship with certain NPCs is close enough!
