Remedy has slapped an August 27 release date to Control, its upcoming telekinesis-powered actioner for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.
The date was originally confirmed on the Xbox Store listing for the game, before being quickly removed. However, the developer later confirmed the date to Game Informer, so it's the real deal.
Control is Remedy's first title since Quantum Break, and is powered by the same technology in the shape of the Northlight Engine. Control differs from the studio's past titles, as it offers a nonlinear world to explore, with players wielding an array of supernatural powers as Jesse Faden, a Director serving with a secret US government agency known as the Federal Bureau of Control.
One of Jesse's primary tools is the Service Weapon, a firearm that can change to suit all manner of combat scenarios. You can also tap into your enemies' minds to use them to your advantage temporarily, and upgrade your weapons using a skill tree.
Control is definitely shaping up to be one of the more interesting titles out this year, so let's hope it delivers the goods, eh?
