Funcom has announced that muscle-bound survival-'em-up Conan Exiles has hit a double-whammy in terms of milestones for the studio: It's now the best-selling and fastest-selling game in the company's 25-year history.

For reference, the open-world title has surpassed 1.4 million copies sold, a record previously held by Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures.

What's more, Conan Exiles managed to eclipse that figure in less than half the time it took Age of Conan to hit the milestone. Not too shabby, then (for some reason I totally imagined that read with the voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger).

Funcom also took the opportunity to lift the veil on the next slice of downloadable content for Conan Exiles, known as Jewel of the West. The expansion will launch in August and adds Aquilonia-themed building pieces, armour, furniture, weapons, and other such goodies.

There's more to come too, including a pretty meaty game update.

'In addition to the Jewel of the West, the team is also hard at work putting together one of our biggest free updates yet,' commented Joel Bylos, creative director on Conan Exiles. 'Launching later this quarter, this update will introduce pets and taming to Conan Exiles, allowing players to find and tame anything from camels to panthers and even spiders and then use them to guard their base, carry resources, and more. This update will be free to all players on all platforms.'

Conan Exiles was released on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on May 8.
