The latest in the long running and successful rally series, Colin McRae: DIRT (DIRT: Colin McRae Off-Road in the US) is scheduled to arrive on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in 2007. Codemasters say the game will be more diverse than previous incarnations, spanning locations all over the world, with point-to-point races and variety of other events.
At the moment details on the game are sparse, but Codemasters has stated that the entire 12.4 mile stretch of the Pike’s Peak International course will be included. Race events will include the tried and tested point-to-point, Rally Raid competitions taking place in desert locations in Dakar-style trucks and 4x4s, Rally Cross, and 850bhp heavyweight Hill Climb challenges.
Also included will be modes dedicated to the European, International, and Global rally championships, featuring official 2WD, 4WD, Classic and RWD rally cars. Multiplayer is also confirmed, but at this time Codemasters is keeping the details under wraps.
Expect more information in the coming months.
