Konami of Europe has announced that it will release Coded Arms on the PSP this summer. Coded Arms will be the first FPS released for the Sony handheld and is somewhat of a departure for Konami who aren’t known for creating First-person-shooters. If the newly released screenshots are anything to go by this could be very good indeed.

Set inside a VR system which has become self-aware, the player must take on the role of a hacke whi has been sent in to take down the hostile threat. The single-player campaign is set over three distinct worlds and offers the player over 30 different weapon systems. Four-player WiFi support is included for some competitive head-to-head play, with the twist being that only weapons found in the single-player campaign being available.

Coded Arms looks to be one of the more promising PSP games on the horizon and is scheduled for a summer 2005 release in Europe.
