Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for Code Vein, showing off some more of the gameplay. We see the main protagonist, who’s known as a Revenant, as they set out in pursuit of something called blood beads to sate their vampiric thirst. It’s no Bram Stoker, that’s for sure.

On first impressions the whole thing looks like someone chucked Final Fantasy XV, the anime series Bleach, Interview with the Vampire, and My Chemical Romance’s Black Parade video into a pot, cooked it all together and came up with this. Oh, don’t forget the healthy sprinkling of the Dark Souls-esque gameplay. The trailer is littered with overly ostentatious lines like ‘slake their unending thirst’, instead of ‘quench their thirst’, or even ‘they need to drink blood to live’.

Code Vein is a vampire-themed RPG, where the player takes control of a character known as a Revenant. This particular Revenant is attempting to escape from the miserable and violent world of Vein, which is basically purgatory for blood sucking types.

Code Vein is due to release in 2018 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
