Square Enix has confirmed that the classic Japanese RPG is set to arrive on the US Virtual Console for Wii on May 16. This will be the third time the title has been re-issued since its original release on Super Nintendo in 1995.

Chrono Trigger has been hailed as one of the greatest games of all times by fans as well as critics thanks to its revolutionary implementation of branching storyline, multiple endings, and brilliant battle system.

Square Enix has confirmed to VideoGamer.com that the game will arrive on the European Virtual Console, but a date is unknown.

Chrono Trigger is set to be available for 800 Wii Points. If you managed to miss playing this game in the last fifteen years then run, don’t walk, to your nearest Wii when it hits the download store. Alternatively the DS version has been around for a few years, which I highly recommend.
