Beautiful Game Studios has announced the release of Championship Manager 2011 for iPhone and iPod touch.

The new game has been created from the ground-up for Apple’s iDevices, with the idea being that players will be able to dip into the experience for short bursts of time.

“With Championship Manager 2011, we’ve focused on delivering a game that takes full advantage of the platforms’ functionality and usability,” said Roy Meredith, general manager of Championship Manager. “We’ve also been careful to listen to feedback from our fantastic community, for example this year we’ve added Custom Formations – now users can drag and drop their players into any formation they want as well as setting individual runs for players.”

The game’s priced £3.99 and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. iOS 3.0 or later is required.

With no new entry in the PC series this year, CM2011 on iPhone is the only way for franchise fans to get a new Championship Manager experience this year. From what we’ve seen it also looks like a hugely improved portable game compared to the previous instalment.
