Leading UK independent retailer Computer Exchange have dismissed recent rumours in the British trade press claiming the company is due to close in the near future.

The company’s recent relocation of its London office to Watford seems to be the root of the rumours, while current work on the CEX website preventing purchases from them online was taken as affirming this – mistakenly, as it turns out.

It seems instead that the website work is part of a larger plan to introduce a new site, one that will allow customers to check the stock of their local CEX branch for the first time.

So, games buyers can rest easy, none of CEX’s 20 stores are going anywhere. And as one of the few high street chains that offer both part exchange and import services, that can only be a good thing.
