A sequel to The Witcher 2 is a definite possibility, according to developer CD Projekt.
Speaking in an interview with The-Witcher.de, CD Projekt’s Jan Bartkowiscz stated the second game in the franchise left the story open ended, and therefore a third game would seem logical.
“Consider this example, for comparison, films like Pirates of the Caribbean, where the first [has a] self-contained story, the later is unchangeable, but then you think, it should be a trilogy.
“So people have a problem then. The end of The Witcher 2 is the beginning of much larger events, while The Witcher [had] rather a cliffhanger ending.”
Recently the firm stated it would like to see The Witcher 2 come to PS3 in the future.
The Witcher 2 2.0 update for PC is due on September 29, bringing new game modes and tweaks.
