CCP has detailed vehicle operation in its upcoming MMOFPS DUST 514.
The game, which takes place in the EVE Online universe, will require users train up skills before they can manually operate a vehicle.
Similar to ships, vehicles include a capacitor which powers everything from weapon turrets to repair modules.
Therefore, like in EVE, “as you activate weapons, scanners, ECM and other modules over the course of a battle it is very likely that your vehicle will deplete its stock of capacitors in short order”.
CCP also details two of the game’s war machines including the Marauder HAV which includes an alternate siege mode, and the Force Recon dropship which can jam enemy sensors and drain enemy vehicle powers.
DUST 514 will be available as a free-to-play title.
