Nicalis has announced that Cave Story+ for Nintendo Switch will receive a free update in August that adds the option to use classic graphics, making the game playable with its original look.. This update will not initially be available to UK players, because technically the game isn’t yet, though Cave Story+ was recently confirmed for a September 7 release.

Cave Story+ on other formats already features classic graphics option, but it’s always nice to have platform features parity when it’s possible, even if in the UK’s case we may have to wait a little longer to play the game (unless you’re being cheeky and taking advantage of the Switch being region free).

Nicalis revealed the news on its Twitter account earlier today.

Cave Story+ will release on the Nintendo Switch in the UK on September 7.
