Capcom has unveiled the Shadow Mode DLC for the upcoming Marvel vs Capcom 3 ahead of the game’s launch on February 18.

Each pack in Shadow Mode will include three specially crafted AI personalities, who all use fixed teams, to fight against in the 3-on-3 brawler.

The first pack, to be released in March, will include AI styles and preferred teams of producer Ryota Niitsuma, assistant producer Akikito Kadowaki and the unnamed QA team leader.

The QA tester, for instance, uses a line-up of Chun-Li, Morrigan and Hsien-Ko – at least if the attached screenshot is anything to go by. On a difficulty scale of 20 stars, they come in at 15. Akikito Kadowaki – referred to as ‘Kadotty’ in the pack – is rated three stars, and uses a line-up we can’t quite work out but are assuming it’s Tron Bonne, X-23 and Phoenix.

Further packs will be released at a later date, and Capcom suggests they “may feature some personalities you already know.”

No details on pricing or a specific date were mentioned.

Capcom hasn’t indicated whether these packs will be free or not. They look interesting enough – we’d like to square off with some real MvC3 pros and see how badly we get beaten – but if they’re too expensive then you can count us right out.
