Last week came the rather big news that Devil May Cry 4, previously thought to be a PS3 exclusive, would be released simultaneously for PS3 and Xbox 360 – a PC version will follow at a later date.
While this was great news to Xbox 360 and PC owners, loyal fans of the series haven’t taken the multi-format news very well. If you head over to the Capcom forums you’ll find a large gathering of disgruntled fans, as well as an official response from Capcom’s Christian Svensson.
“We are certainly moved that people are so passionate about our products that they would go to such extremes,” said Svensson. “At the same time we feel that allowing more people access to our content pleases far more people than it displeases (after all, we’re not denying DMC4 to anyone that was already going to get it). It really is the best decision for the company and for consumers.“
There’s no official release date for Devil May Cry 4 just yet, but the game is expected for release towards the end of the year.
