There are no plans for an Xbox LIVE Arcade or PSN version of upcoming Wii-exclusive fighting game Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.
Speaking to VideoGamer.com, producer Ryota Niitsuma said that because the game is optimised for the Wii, Capcom would be better off developing a sequel for XBLA and PSN than spending the time on a port.
When asked if there is any chance that the game might be released on Xbox 360 and PS3 in the future, Niitsuma replied: “Currently, no, but we would like to see the reaction of the western market when we release the game on Wii.
“The other problem is the game is optimised for the Wii system, especially the graphics features, so if we were to port it to PS3 or Xbox 360 we would have to make the game from scratch, and in that case we might as well just make a sequel of the series on those consoles rather than porting it.”
So there you have it fighting game fans. There’s more chance of a 360/PSN sequel than there is the original coming to the “next-gen” consoles.
