First month US sales of 36,000 copies for Asura’s Wrath, the oddball anime action title, did not come as a surprise to publisher Capcom.

Asked to evaluate the game’s performance, Capcom’s SVP of planning and business development Christian Svensson told Game Informer: “Kind of as predicted, frankly. It went about almost exactly how we thought it would.

“We also knew it was going to be pretty polarizing. The concept of playing a high-octane Japanese anime – it found a specific audience, which we figured it would do.”

In the UK Asura’s Wrath failed to chart inside the All Formats Top 40.
