Capcom celebrated its 25th anniversary on June 11 and CEO, Kenzou Tsujimoto, has issued a message thanking the company’s many supporters.
“I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to all of our stakeholders. This includes the shareholders who have supported our management and business activities, customers and other users of our products, and the many employees who have played a key role in our growth,” said Kenzou Tsujimoto.
The CEO continued: “Capcom will release a number of momentous titles during our 25th anniversary fiscal year. Releases include additions for two highly successful series that have been in our line-up for more than a decade: Street Fighter and Resident Evil. In addition, our Bionic Commando game, which was originally created for 8-bit computers, returns this year after 20 years in a version that harnesses all the power of next-generation hardware.
“I am very excited about the return of Bionic Commando. Most of all, I am thankful that this game still has content that the market demands even after so many years.”
A 25th anniversary image also reveals some interesting news regarding two Capcom properties making the transition to cinema: a Clock Tower movie is planned for 2009, with an Onimusha movie scheduled for 2011.
