Sledgehammer Games has announced the next slice of downloadable content for Call of Duty: WWII, offering a brand new selection of maps plus the next chapter in the game’s Nazi Zombies campaign.

The War Machine will include a brand new War Mode offering known as Operation Husky, which was co-developed by Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software. The main highlight here is the introduction of a new aerial dog fighting mechanic, which the game previously teased during the Battle of the Bulge campaign mission.

Players will also travel to new battlefields in War Machine, with the new Egypt map pitting teams against each other against the backdrop of the iconic Giza ruins, which features a central temple location providing intense firefights during Domination matches.

In addition, you’ll also get to scrap it out on the beaches and streets of the French city of Dunkirk, which sets the scene for large-scale battles and deadly sniper positions thanks to the many buildings that line the seafront.

Finally, the new V2 location plonks you in rural Germany where proximity battles are the name of the game, while The Shadowed Throne continues the Nazi Zombies story as you venture into the ‘heart of Nazi Germany to confront a desperate and evil regime.’

The War Machine is pencilled in for an April 10 release on PlayStation 4, and will be released on PC and Xbox One at a later date. The DLC forms part of Call of Duty: WWII’s Season Pass and will also be made available for purchase separately.

Sledgehammer recently celebrated Saint Patrick’s Day in Call of Duty: WWII with a series of themed items and in-game events.
